Short summary
Optimizing irrigation means better water management. In 2024, we tested the effect of adding compost at different depths on soil improvement. We found that adding 5 kg/m² of compost at a depth of 10 cm resulted in better water retention, more efficient drainage, and a lighter structure. This method saves water and improves agriculture, particularly on sandy soils such as those found in Benin.
