Short summary
Sedimentation is one of the major problems in Sri Lankan reservoirs. Hence the study of sediment yield and transportation have become a necessary factor in designing of reservoirs, especially in deciding the capacity and lifetime. The insufficient past data and high variability of prevailing data of sediment make the simulations difficult and vague. Hence deciding the most suitable method of obtaining short term data, verification and controlling methods are discussed.
