Short summary
Flood risk information based on a series of inundation simulations for various rainfall scenarios was estimated for business sites located in the expected inundation area of the Tama River, Tokyo, Japan. The inundation characteristics of each site highly depend on the topographic feature of the flood plain, suggesting the importance of assessment at a respective business site. Risk analysis was then applied to examine optimal flood protection measures.
