Short summary
Buildings in or near a dike are an important factor in the design process of a dike strengthening project. The first part of the study is undertaken to determine the current subsidence of the buildings and use that data to determine their foundation type, state and sensitivity to dike strengthening. The second part of the study considers the design phase of the project. The additional subsidence is calculated based on the different dike strengthening designs.
