Short summary
This paper shows the subsidence due to creep of the coastal compressible aquifer systems with the borehole extensometer compaction measurements and groundwater level observations. So this creep subsidence can become one important component of relative sea level rise in the coastal areas in the world in addition to tectonic subsidence and subsidence due to groundwater withdrawal. This research is because we need to project relative sea level rise in the Houston-Galveston region.
